# [AI] Alibaba reportedly plans to lead the investment in AI startup UniPat AI

According to a report by Bloomberg, Alibaba (09988) plans to lead a $300 million (approximately HKD 2.34 billion) financing round for the artificial intelligence (AI) startup UniPat AI, which will value UniPat AI at $2.5 billion (approximately HKD 19.5 billion).

The report cites informed sources stating that this financing round is expected to be completed soon, with existing investors including Tencent (00700) and HSG (formerly Sequoia China) also participating. Relevant negotiations are still ongoing, and the terms of the deal may change. (bi)
