It is especially controversial in schools. Tech giant Microsoft (MSFT) is seizing the bull of controversy by the horns, however, and offering a complete guide to how to put AI to work in education. Investors must have respected the audacity of the move, because Microsoft shares were up fractionally in Thursday afternoon's trading. Microsoft has posted a 1.87% loss in its share price over the past year. ## **AI in School Apparently Can Work** Even as educators grapple with the notion of kids putting a commercially-available tool to work to make their nightly round of busywork go by in seconds, Microsoft is filling teachers in on how to use it to its most effective. Microsoft got together with Cyberlite, a company that focuses on "…cybersafety, AI and digital wellbeing education," according to a report from Forbes. The resulting guide offers some potential use cases, like generating lesson notes or quizzes, as well as some practices for better prompting, which is different from searching. There are even a set of exercises for teachers to try before putting AI to work in the classroom. A set of cautions about AI's limitations and how rapidly the technology changes are also included. ## **A Blow to Sony** Sony Group (SONY) remains Microsoft's biggest competitor in the video game space, and Sony just took a substantial loss at Microsoft's hands. Hideo Kojima, one of the biggest single names in the gaming space, had a project with each company. Microsoft had *OD*, and Sony had a game called *PHYSINT*. But now, Kojima has moved both projects to Microsoft, leaving Sony out in the cold. Worse for Sony was the news that it was actually prepared to cancel *PHYSINT* altogether, but Microsoft's involvement is now keeping that game from being a complete loss. ## **Is Microsoft a Buy, Hold or Sell?** Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Strong Buy consensus rating on MSFT stock based on 33 Buys and one Hold assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below.
