# PowerSecure Builds Standby Power for Keel's Data Center Campus

PowerSecure, a subsidiary of Southern Company , agreed to supply a backup resiliency solution for Keel's data center campus in Moses Lake, Washington. Neither company disclosed financial terms. Keel shares were down 4.58% intraday.

PowerSecure will build a standby system on its modular PowerBlocks platform, combining onsite generation with electrical infrastructure and controls. The architecture is designed to scale as the campus grows, and to enable peak shaving, running onsite generation during high-load periods to cut draw from the grid. "Reliable power is the foundation of everything we build at Keel Infrastructure," said Alex Brammer, the company's executive vice president of operations, describing firm power solutions as increasingly critical.

The two companies formed the partnership earlier this year, settling system requirements and delivery timelines, and Keel representatives toured PowerSecure's microgrid at its Durham campus. Jim Smith, PowerSecure's president, said the team built a solution for Keel's immediate needs while positioning it for future growth.
