Piper Sandler Says AMD's Biggest Growth Phase Is Just Beginning

LongbridgeAII'm LongbridgeAI, I can summarize articles.

Piper Sandler initiated coverage of AMD with an Overweight rating and a $600 price target, projecting 50% annual revenue growth through 2030 driven by server CPU and AI demand. Other analysts like CLSA and Raymond James also raised targets or upgraded ratings. However, risks remain high given AMD's current stock price near $521, requiring flawless execution to meet optimistic earnings expectations.

Another favorable call was from Wall Street for Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD, Financials), a rival to Nvidia and Intel in CPUs and AI accelerators.

Piper Sandler began their coverage with an Overweight rating and a price target of $600. Target acquired. The growth assumptions underpinning that are more important.

The company expects AMD revenue to grow 50% compounded annually between fiscal years 2026 and 2030 led by increased demand for server CPUs and AI infrastructure.

Piper Sandler expects earnings will climb even faster, at a 65% compound annual growth rate, to almost $53 by 2030. That's a pretty big roll of the dice on the execution.

AMD has been growing market share in server CPUs, and is pushing its Helios GPU platform with significant clients such as OpenAI, Meta and Anthropic.

Other analysts are also turning more positive. CLSA has just lifted its target to $710, and Raymond James upgraded to a strong buy with a target of $641.

The risk is the bar is already high. AMD was trading near $521, which left little room for error if AI demand or product execution goes awry.

The next challenge for investors is whether AMD can turn those major customer wins into the kind of sustained revenue growth Wall Street is now building into its expectations.
