# Meta Courts European Bond Investors to Help Bankroll AI Boom

**Meta Platforms Inc.** (NASDAQ:META) stock rose more than 1% Friday as investors moved into mega-cap growth stocks. Communication Services was among the market’s strongest sectors. The Nasdaq gained more than 1%, while the S&P 500 rose 1.06%.

## Meta Meets European Bond Investors

Separately, Meta has been meeting with European bond investors for at least a week as Big Tech companies seek more funding for the AI infrastructure boom, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

The company has not provided a timeline for a potential bond sale. The meetings are part of a non-deal roadshow, which does not guarantee an offering.

A European deal would mark Meta’s first debt issuance outside the U.S. dollar market. The company last raised debt in April through a $25 billion, six-part bond offering.

The move comes as other technology giants tap overseas debt markets. **Amazon.com Inc.** (NASDAQ:AMZN) recently raised 4.25 billion pounds ($5.75 billion) in its U.K. sterling bond market debut. **Alphabet Inc.** (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has also raised debt across several international markets this year.

## Technical Analysis

Meta shares are trading 11.3% above their 20-day simple moving average of $586.69. The stock is also 4.7% above its 200-day SMA of $623.25.

That setup points to improving short-term momentum. However, the longer-term technical picture remains mixed. Meta’s 20-day SMA is below its 50-day SMA, while its 50-day SMA remains below the 200-day SMA.

The stock formed a death cross in December 2025.

Meanwhile, MACD is above its signal line, and the histogram is positive. That suggests buying momentum is improving.

Resistance sits near $686, while support is around $556.50.

## Meta Analyst Outlook

Meta carries a Buy consensus rating and an average price forecast of $772.46.

**JPMorgan** upgraded the stock to Overweight on Sept. 10 and raised its price forecast to $820. **Wedbush** maintained a Neutral rating and $595 forecast on Sept. 1. **Rosenblatt** maintained Buy and raised its forecast to $886 on Aug. 27.

## Benzinga Edge Rankings

The Benzinga Edge scorecard gives Meta a Growth score of 79.38 out of 100. Quality stands at 67.21, while Value is 50.21.

The scores point to a growth-heavy profile with more moderate readings for quality and valuation.

## Meta ETF Exposure

The stock is a major holding in the **First Trust Dow Jones Internet Index Fund** (NYSE:FDN), with a 9.46% weighting. It also accounts for 8.91% of the **Invesco AI and Next Gen Software ETF** (NYSE:IGPT) and 8.76% of the **Global X Social Media ETF** (NASDAQ:SOCL).

Its large weighting means significant fund flows into or out of these ETFs can influence demand for Meta shares.

## Price Action

**META Price Action:** Meta Platforms shares were up 1.27% at $652.57 at the time of publication on Friday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
