# Jimmy Kimmel, Disney in talks to renew late-night show for another year

Jimmy Kimmel and his employer, Disney-owned ABC, are reportedly in negotiations to extend “Jimmy Kimmel Live” for another year, according to Variety, just days after Page Six said the late-night host was making the current TV season his last.

Kimmel’s current one-year contract is a sharp cut from his previous three-year deal, as late-night audiences decline, advertising dollars dry up, and production costs rise.

Earlier this week, reports circulated that Kimmel’s show would not be renewed after a 24-year run following a tumultuous 12 months that saw the host suspended for comments surrounding Charlie Kirk’s assassination, increased regulatory pressure from the Federal Communications Commission, and his ongoing public feud with President Trump.

A source familiar with the situation told Page Six, “His contract is not getting extended,” a claim an ABC spokesperson swiftly denied.

“This information is inaccurate—any reports about the future of the show at this point are purely speculative.”

Jimmy Kimmel’s current contract ends in May 2027.
