# Tesla (TSLA) to Bring Its Semi Electric Truck to Europe in 2027

Tesla (TSLA) has confirmed that its Semi electric truck is coming to Europe, with customer deliveries set to begin in 2027. The EV giant introduced the adapted European model at the IAA Transportation show in Hannover. It also launched new regional web pages with the truck's specs, design updates, and key features.

The move marks Tesla's first big push for the Semi outside North America. The truck was first shown in 2017, but production faced long delays as Tesla focused battery supplies on its passenger cars. Limited U.S. deliveries began in late 2022, and Tesla said earlier this year that the first Semi had rolled off a high‑volume line in Nevada. Full production is now planned for 2026.

Tesla's European site lists a version with up to 550 km of range at a 40‑tonne weight, using about 1 kWh per kilometer. The truck weighs around 9,100 kg without cargo and offers 25 kW of electric power take‑off. Using Tesla's Megacharger network, the Semi can recover about 60% of its range in 30 minutes, with charging speeds up to 800 kW.

Tesla said the European Semi will come with route‑based charging plans and its own service centers to reduce downtime for fleet operators. The launch puts Tesla into a fast-growing European truck market where several truck makers already sell battery-powered heavy-duty models.

## **Key Details About Tesla Semi**

The Tesla Semi is built as a Class 8 electric truck that beats standard diesel trucks in efficiency, running costs, and hill‑climbing power. The Semi uses a multi‑motor setup where one "torque axle" gives strong low‑speed power for pulling heavy loads uphill, and a second "efficiency axle" helps the truck cruise smoothly on highways.

The truck replaced old hydraulic assist with a fully electric power steering system. It maintains a physical link to the wheels. However, the setup gives a smoother steering feel and makes it easier to tie in Autopilot features.

Data from hundreds of pilot trucks that have logged over 13.5 million miles reflect the vehicle's advantages. During commercial freight testing, the Semi averaged an energy consumption of 1.55 to 1.7 kWh per mile at steady highway speeds. Thanks to its strong efficiency and low drag (about 0.4), the Semi is roughly 50% cheaper to run per mile than diesel trucks in high fuel-cost states like California, and about 20% cheaper nationwide.

## **Is Tesla Stock Good to Buy Now?**

Turning to Wall Street, TSLA stock has a Hold consensus rating based on 11 Buys, 12 Holds, and three Sells assigned in the past three months. The average price target for Tesla is $377.08, implying a 3.18% upside from the current price.
