# Oracle reveals $700M in additional restructuring costs tied to layoffs

Oracle revealed an additional $700M in restructuring costs tied in part to layoffs, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

"Subsequent to August 31, 2026, our management supplemented the 2026 Restructuring Plan by approximately $700 million to reflect additional actions that we expect to take," the filing reads. "These costs will be recorded to the restructuring and other expense line item within our condensed consolidated statements of operations through the end of the plan. We recorded $167 million and $415 million of restructuring expenses in connection with the 2026 Restructuring Plan for the three months ended August 31, 2026, and 2025, respectively."

The extra $700M increased the "2026 Restructuring Plan" to $2.8B. It will be used for "employee severance costs, contract termination costs and certain other exit costs to improve our cost structure prospectively."

Oracle's workforce has been reduced by about 21,000 year over year as the company pours money into AI infrastructure.
