LongbridgeAII'm LongbridgeAI, I can summarize articles.

Palantir Technologies (PLTR) shares rose 3.27% to $172.70 as AI leaders from Anthropic, OpenAI, and others called for a slowdown in rapid AI development to address safety concerns. This shift suggests reduced competitive pressure on established enterprise software vendors like Palantir, boosting investor confidence despite broader market dips.

Palantir Technologies Inc. (NYSE:PLTR) shares are climbing Monday along with other enterprise software stocks after AI executives at firms including Anthropic, OpenAI and SpaceXAI signaled that the industry’s rapid growth may need to slow, a shift that could ease competitive pressure on established software vendors.

  • Palantir Technologies stock is showing exceptional strength. Why are PLTR shares rallying?

AI’s Biggest Names Call For Slower Growth

“We Must Pace the Frontier,” a Saturday essay titled by Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, called on the industry to “slow the pace” of capability gains, cautioning that AI agents left unchecked could band together into a sprawling botnet capable of inflicting damage running into the hundreds of billions of dollars within less than a year.

Anthropic’s response to that risk includes opening its systems to outside evaluators, granting them the same access levels normally reserved for its own staff. That call for restraint found backing from several major industry figures, including OpenAI’s Sam Altman, DeepMind’s Demis Hassabis and Tesla’s Elon Musk, with OpenAI pledging to adopt comparable outside testing of its own technology.

Altman took the commitment a step further, revealing that OpenAI is pushing back its previously planned 2026 stock market debut, citing lingering questions around safety and model alignment that haven’t yet been resolved. Amodei, for his part, singled out China as the single hardest piece of the puzzle in any coordinated slowdown, describing it as the “toughest dilemma” given how global competition factors into the calculus.

With some of the AI industry’s most influential and wealthiest leaders calling their own pace of progress a potential threat, investors appear to be taking notice. A slower pace of AI development could mean less competitive pressure on established enterprise software companies like Palantir, whose businesses could otherwise face disruption from faster-moving AI capabilities.
