# Westwater Updates Battery-Grade Graphite Strategy and Progress

Westwater Resources ( (WWR) ) has provided an announcement.

On September 14, 2026, Westwater Resources’ Executive Chairman Terence Cryan presented the company’s updated business plan at the H.C. Wainwright 28th Annual Global Investment Conference, coinciding with the posting of an investor presentation on its website. The materials highlighted Westwater’s progress on its Kellyton Graphite Plant, where more than half of the planned $245 million capital cost has been invested and an EXIM loan approved, as well as its broader mine-to-market graphite strategy centered on U.S. battery demand.

The update underscored that Phase 1 of the Kellyton facility is designed to provide 12,500 mtpa of battery-grade natural graphite, with Phase 2 expected to lift capacity to 50,000 mtpa, supported by ongoing customer qualification and offtake discussions. By advancing a strategically located, vertically integrated graphite operation at a time when the U.S. imports all battery-grade natural graphite and relies heavily on Chinese supply, the company is seeking to strengthen its industry positioning and appeal to stakeholders focused on domestic, secure battery-materials sourcing.

The most recent analyst rating on (WWR) stock is a Buy
 with a $2.00 price target.

**Spark’s Take on WWR Stock**

According to Spark, TipRanks’ AI Analyst, WWR is a Neutral.

The score is held down primarily by very weak current fundamentals (no revenue, ongoing losses, and sustained negative free cash flow). Offsetting this, the latest earnings call indicates meaningful project/financing and permitting progress toward future production, and technicals show a modest recovery, but valuation support is limited given loss-making results and no dividend.
