# Eli Lilly Stock Gains as Retatrutide and Foundayo Data Highlight Pipeline Strength

Shares of **Eli Lilly and Company** (NYSE:LLY) are trading higher Tuesday morning following positive previews of its late-stage obesity and diabetes pipeline.

## **EASD 2026 Pipeline Previews Highlight Retatrutide and Foundayo Momentum**

The morning upside follows Lilly’s announcement that it will present pivotal Phase 2 and Phase 3 data across its cardiometabolic portfolio at the 62nd European Association for the Study of Diabetes Annual Meeting in Milan. 

Headline presentations include Phase 3 TRIUMPH-2 results for retatrutide, an investigational triple hormone receptor agonist, which demonstrated up to 20.8% average weight loss (49.6 lbs) and a 1.6% A1C reduction at 80 weeks in adults with obesity and type 2 diabetes. 

Additionally, Phase 3 ACHIEVE-4 data for Foundayo (orforglipron), Lilly’s daily oral GLP-1, demonstrated a 23% lower risk of MACE-3 cardiovascular events versus insulin glargine, while Phase 1 results for eloraTZP (combining amylin agonist eloralintide with tirzepatide) showed 17% weight loss over 16 weeks.

## **August Earnings Beat and Raised Full-Year Guidance Anchor Fundamentals**

The morning’s positive tone builds on exceptional second-quarter 2026 financial results reported on August 5. Lilly delivered worldwide revenue of $22.97 billion, up 48% year-over-year, driven by explosive demand for Mounjaro ($9.9 billion) and Zepbound ($4.9 billion), alongside non-GAAP EPS of $8.38 that comfortably topped consensus estimates.

Reiterating the company’s strong trajectory, Chair and CEO **David A. Ricks** stated: “Lilly’s momentum continues, as we delivered 48% revenue growth and raised our full-year guidance.” 

Lilly boosted its full-year 2026 revenue outlook to a range of $85 billion to $87 billion (up from $82 billion to $85 billion), reinforcing Wall Street’s confidence in Lilly’s long-term commercial execution and manufacturing scaling.
