# NVIDIA Jensen Huang: AI Safety Antitrust Exemptions 'Completely Unnecessary'; Humanity Will Not Perish in 2030

NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) CEO Jensen Huang on Tuesday (15th) criticized proposals for AI companies to seek antitrust exemptions in order to coordinate slowing the development of more powerful models.

Huang made the remarks during an interview with CNBC's "Mad Money" host Jim Cramer. Earlier, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei published an article last Saturday (12th), triggering intense market debate over artificial intelligence safety.

Amodei proposed that major AI laboratories coordinate to slow down the frontier pace, meaning deliberately slowing the development of advanced models to give companies more time for testing and safety assurance. He said such arrangements might require government coordination or exemptions from antitrust restrictions.

Huang agreed that AI companies need to take safety issues seriously, but believed companies should be able to resolve such challenges independently.

Huang said on CNBC's "Mad Money" program people need new laws, new antitrust laws or new regulations to allow these companies to do basic engineering work properly and handle things appropriately before launching products. That is completely unnecessary. People already have plenty of laws and regulations governing product reliability and functionality.

He said that human beings will not perish in 2030. There are many people around the world who will build AI correctly. People will have all kinds of safeguards and invent all kinds of safety and security technologies.
