# Why Are AI Chip Stocks AMD and INTC Rising in Pre-Market Today, and Who Owns Them?

AI chip stocks Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and Intel (INTC) are trending higher in Wednesday's pre-market trading as investors weigh strong AI demand and new developments across the chip sector. AMD stock is up about 2%, while Intel stock has gained more than 3%.

AMD is getting support from Piper Sandler, which said demand across its CPU and GPU products remains ahead of available supply and kept its $600 price target. Intel is also in the spotlight after *Reuters* reported that SK Hynix (SKHY) is in talks to use part of Intel's planned Ohio facility to make memory chips in the U.S. With both stocks moving higher, it is worth taking a closer look at who owns AMD and Intel.
