# Trump Says He Will 'Only Encourage AI'

President Trump reiterated his pro-AI stance on Monday, saying fears that AI and robots will threaten humanity are unwarranted and likening them to similar concerns over climate change. "We will be careful, and that's why we have the Department of Justice, and other Law Enforcement bodies, that will rein things in if we have to, but I will only encourage AI or, SI (SUPER INTELLIGENCE)!" he said in a Truth Social post.

Trump added he would continue to support AI development, which he believes will be bigger than the industrial revolution and the internet.

## **Trump Reaffirms U.S. AI Lead as Stocks Rally**

Furthermore, Trump said the U.S. has a lead over China in AI and it will remain that way. "Whoever wins AI, WINS!" he said. In recent weeks, fears have circulated that AI could lead to economic disruption. Those fears intensified after the CEOs of OpenAI and Anthropic called for AI risk management measures and slower development.

Trump's statement has given a boost to AI stocks. AMD (AMD), Intel (INTC), and Meta Platforms (META) are all up by over 8% at the time of writing.
