# Capital Rotates into Niche Tech and Resource Equities

Investors are increasingly looking beyond mega-cap tech, searching for mispriced fundamentals in unclassified and mid-cap corners of the US equity market. According to people familiar with the matter and recent corporate filings, capital is selectively flowing into specialized semiconductor supply chains, energy infrastructure, and niche consumer businesses that have reported unexpected revenue beats or favorable structural shifts in 2026.

### SiTime (SITM.US)

Precision timing company SiTime (SITM.US) is riding the artificial intelligence hardware wave, with its stock recently surging nearly **10%** following a bullish initiation from analysts. For the second quarter of 2026, the company posted a massive **127%** year-over-year jump in total revenue to **USD 157.4M**. Non-GAAP EPS came in at **USD 2.34**, significantly beating the USD 1.95 consensus. The firm is actively expanding its footprint in data center architecture, a move bolstered by its July acquisition of Renesas’s timing business.

### Talen Energy (TLN.US)

In the power sector, Talen Energy (TLN.US) is capitalizing on the premium for grid reliability. While the company missed Q2 targets with total revenue of **USD 747M** and adjusted EPS of **USD 0.16**, management nonetheless raised its 2026 financial outlook after closing the acquisition of high-quality Western PJM generation assets. According to recent auction data, Talen cleared over **10 GW** of capacity at a ceiling of **USD 325** per megawatt-day in PJM's 2028/2029 auction.

### Lotus Technology (LOT.US)

Electric vehicle manufacturer Lotus Technology (LOT.US) is navigating a rockier path, with its shares pulling back more than **6%** in recent trading. Despite logging a new EV lap record in Malaysia and acquiring full ownership of its Chinese sales operations in August 2026, the luxury automaker is grappling with broad industry headwinds. The company reported its unaudited H1 2026 financials in late August and has partnered with fintech firms to explore automotive tokenization strategies.

### Vale (VALE.US)

Iron ore titan Vale (VALE.US) continues to generate robust cash flows, supported by record production volumes across iron ore, copper, and nickel. Pro-forma EBITDA for Q2 2026 climbed **19%** year-over-year to **USD 4.1B**. The company’s CFO recently noted that iron ore demand remains resilient. Consequently, Vale has rolled out a series of dividend distributions in September and is reportedly weighing a potential entry into the Chinese bond market.

### Carter's (CRI.US)

On the retail front, children’s apparel maker Carter's (CRI.US) delivered a solid earnings beat. Second-quarter net sales rose **5.2%** to **USD 615.5M**, and adjusted EPS of **USD 0.26** comfortably topped the USD 0.06 consensus. The company declared a quarterly dividend of **USD 0.25** per share and launched a refreshed brand campaign in September 2026 targeting younger consumer demographics.

### Other Niche Equities

Other specialized equities are contending with unique regulatory and operational hurdles. Metal recycler **Greenwave Technology Solutions (GWAV.US)** received another Nasdaq non-compliance notice in May 2026 after failing to file its Q1 10-Q report. Meanwhile, Chinese cosmetics direct-seller **Park Ha Biological Technology (BYAH.US)** raised roughly **USD 2.97M** in a September equity offering, but was hit shortly after by a securities class action lawsuit alleging IPO float manipulation.

Among structured products and financial holdings, the **iShares Prime Money Market ETF (PMMF.US)** is capturing attention for providing intraday liquidity under SEC Rule 2a-7. At the same time, funds like the **USCF Daily Target 2X Copper Index ETF (CPXR.US)** and specialty insurance-related instruments such as **Argo Group (ARGO-A.US)** reflect ongoing institutional appetite for tactical commodity exposure and alternative yield.
