# CN MOC: CN-US Reach Multiple Consensus in 8th Round of Econ and Trade Talks

A spokesperson for China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC), He Yadong, said the economic and trade teams of China and the US held the eighth round of economic and trade talks in the US. Adhering to the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation, the two sides conducted candid, in-depth and constructive exchanges on economic and trade issues of mutual concern, including implementation of existing consensus from trade talks, reciprocal tariff reduction arrangements, establishment of a trade council and an investment council, and extension of the joint arrangement from the Kuala Lumpur economic and trade talks, reaching multiple consensuses.

He Yadong said Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, as the respective lead representatives of China and the US, held their first dialogue on artificial intelligence under the China-US economic and trade consultation mechanism. Going forward, the Chinese side will maintain close communication with the US side on follow-up work under the China-US economic and trade consultation mechanism.
