# What's Going On with AppLovin Stock Thursday?

**AppLovin Corporation** (NASDAQ:APP) shares are trading marginally lower Thursday morning as investors continue to digest Wednesday’s analyst research caution.

- AppLovin stock is trending lower. What’s pulling APP shares down?

## **Analyst Caution and Network Growth Ceilings**

The price softness follows a cautious research report issued on Wednesday by **Edgewater Research** analyst Joe Wittine, who cited industry channel checks indicating that AppLovin’s share-of-wallet and share-of-voice gains are stalling as its core MAX ad network approaches a functional growth ceiling.

Edgewater modeled fourth-quarter sequential revenue growth of just 8% to 9%, representing a notable year-over-year deceleration, attributing the flattening trajectory to intensifying auction competition from rivals like **Unity Software** that is compressing AppLovin’s net revenue spreads.

Wittine noted that recent channel feedback revealed only “spotty” validation of performance gains from management’s August algorithm update, characterizing the late-summer bounce as a minor recovery from a soft July rather than a new growth inflection.

Describing the equity as a “show-me story,” Edgewater warned that consensus revenue and earnings estimates for late-2026 and 2027 will likely need to be revised downward ahead of the company’s upcoming third-quarter financial report.
