LongbridgeAII'm LongbridgeAI, I can summarize articles.

GE Aerospace shares rebounded despite Jefferies lowering its price target to $435 from $455, while maintaining a Buy rating. The stock faces short-term technical weakness but is supported by strong fundamentals, including a $170 billion services backlog and expected 20% growth in commercial engine services by 2026. Additionally, GE continues investing in advanced propulsion, such as the GEK800 program, and plans a $225 million research center modernization.

GE Aerospace (NYSE:GE) shares traded up after a down Thursday morning as investors weighed a Jefferies price target cut and broader weakness in industrial stocks.

Industrials fell about 1%, while the S&P 500 declined 0.5%.

Jefferies Cuts GE Aerospace Price Target

Jefferies analyst Sheila Kahyaoglu maintained a Buy rating on GE Aerospace but lowered the price target to $435 from $455.

GE currently trades at a price-to-earnings ratio of about 37.7x, putting valuation in focus as industrial shares face broader pressure.

GE Invests In Research, Advanced Propulsion

Beyond the near-term market pressure, GE Aerospace continues to invest in research and next-generation propulsion. The company plans to spend $225 million to modernize its research center in Niskayuna, New York.

GE Aerospace has also advanced its GEK800 turbofan program with Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (NASDAQ:KTOS).

The GEK800 Serial Number 1 achieved a successful ignition milestone at the X-58 test facility, marking the start of a new testing campaign for the cruise-missile propulsion program.

Commercial aerospace fundamentals also remain supportive. GE Aerospace’s CFO said at the Morgan Stanley conference that airline fleet plans remain intact and parked aircraft levels are still very low.

The company expects commercial engine services to grow more than 20% in 2026, supported by about $170 billion in multiyear services backlog.

GEnx engine deliveries rose 50% year over year in the second quarter, with further growth expected in the third quarter.
