Together, these actions support Kemper’s strategic priorities by aligning leadership and capabilities in areas central to performance and long-term profitable growth. The new Distribution & Marketing organization will bring together sales and marketing resources across Kemper’s businesses under the leadership of Chris Flint, who has been named Chief Distribution & Marketing Officer, reporting to President and Chief Executive Officer Steve McAnena. Flint most recently served as President of Kemper Life, a position he held since 2023. The organization will strengthen and coordinate Kemper’s distribution capabilities while supporting each business’s distinct strategy and profitable growth objectives. “Aligning distribution and marketing capabilities is an important strategic step to enable sustained, disciplined, profitable growth,” said McAnena. “Chris brings extensive experience across independent and exclusive agency channels, as well as direct and digital distribution. His breadth of experience, understanding of our businesses, and proven leadership make him well suited to lead this organization, deepen our distribution relationships, and expand customer acquisition.” Kemper also announced leadership appointments in P&C Claims and Life. Todd Williams has joined Kemper as Chief Claims Officer and leads the P&C Claims organization, with responsibility for claims strategy, performance and transformation. Reporting to Head of P&C Eric Kappler, Williams brings more than 25 years of auto claims experience and deep expertise in the nonstandard auto market, including building and leading the claims organization at Bristol West. Jennifer Kopps-Wagner has been named Head of Kemper Life, reporting to McAnena. She succeeds Flint as leader of the business after serving more than eight years as Kemper Life’s General Counsel. Her background combines broad business, legal and operating expertise across life, health and supplemental insurance. She will oversee Life’s core insurance operations and strategy, including insurance administration, actuarial, product, pricing and underwriting. “Effective claims management in P&C and the continued success of our Life business are important to Kemper’s overall performance,” McAnena said. “Todd’s knowledge of the nonstandard auto market and proven leadership of claims functions, and Jennifer’s life and operating experience position them well to support and advance our priorities in each business.” **About Kemper** The Kemper family of companies is one of the nation's leading specialized insurers. Investors watch P&C businesses because they generate steady premium income but face sudden, often large claims after accidents or disasters, so profitability can swing sharply—think of premiums as a safety net that can stretch or tear under big losses. actuarialtechnical Actuarial describes the use of statistical and mathematical methods to estimate future costs, risks and probabilities related to events like insurance claims, retirements or loan defaults. For investors, actuarial analysis matters because it turns uncertain future outcomes into measured expectations and projected obligations—like using a weather forecast to plan a budget—helping evaluate a company’s financial stability, reserve adequacy and the fair value of risk-linked assets. underwritingtechnical Underwriting is the process where a financial institution agrees to buy and then resell new stocks or bonds to investors. It matters because it helps companies raise money quickly and smoothly, while the bank takes on the risk of selling those securities at the agreed price. Think of it like a booker guaranteeing to sell all tickets for a concert before opening the doors.
