# France Plans to Convene G7 Meeting to Discuss Release of Strategic Petroleum Reserves

French President Macron stated during a joint interview with two French television stations on the evening of the 24th that France plans to convene a meeting of G7 member states to discuss the release of strategic petroleum reserves in order to stabilize international oil prices.

Recently, diesel prices in the United States and many European countries have hit new highs. Macron said that G7 member states could explore how to release strategic petroleum reserves to the market through coordinated efforts, thereby lowering oil prices.

Macron stated that the situation in Iran is the main reason for the global surge in oil prices, and France will commit to promoting stability in the region. In addition, the Russia-Ukraine conflict has also impacted oil prices, prompting France to call on both sides to cease attacks on each other's energy targets.
