Our weekly top-stories roundup helps you catch up on the biggest Tesla headlines from the past week. It was a big week for the Tesla Semi, with high-volume production officially underway in Nevada and a record-setting truck order, plus a first look at the next-generation Roadster, more northern B.C. Superchargers, FSD news from Europe and HW3 owners, and new tricks for Grok in the car. Here are some of the biggest stories from this week. The Semi finally hit a milestone nearly nine years in the making. Tesla opened its high-volume Semi factory in Sparks, Nevada, and handed over the first keys to customers. At the same event, Tesla revealed major Semi upgrades, including fully electric steering and a new heat pump-based thermal system shared with the Cybercab. Earlier in the week, the Tesla Semi was selected as the primary truck for a 2,500-unit order coordinated through ZET SCALE, which the organizers describe as the largest electric truck order in U.S. history. Tesla also had one more surprise at the end of its Semi event, teasing the next-generation Roadster with a full-width light bar. A newly surfaced patent points to a smart active rear wing ahead of the supercar’s October 1 debut. Charging was once again a major theme here at home. Tesla reversed some recent Supercharger price hikes in Canada, while other locations got more expensive, less than two weeks after its last round of pricing changes. In northern British Columbia, Tesla opened three new Superchargers in as many days, starting with Vanderhoof, followed by Terrace and then Prince Rupert, bringing the network all the way to the Pacific coast. On the software side, FSD v14.2 Lite began rolling out to HW3 Model S and Model X vehicles, bringing Tesla’s latest generation of self-driving software to the older flagships for the first time. In Europe, FSD was approved in Czechia, making it the seventh European country to give the green light. However, the EU-wide vote on FSD slipped beyond October, pushing a decision to December at the earliest. Tesla also brought Grok Bot to its vehicles, letting the in-car assistant complete everyday tasks like ordering coffee or booking a restaurant reservation, all by voice.
