Meta Defends Muse’s Privacy Controls
Meta Superintelligence Labs executive David Singleton responded to the Inc. report on Threads, saying the company takes reports of potential security issues seriously.
Singleton said Muse’s Messages integration on Mac is optional and requires users to enable the Messages connector and grant Muse Full Disk Access through macOS.
He noted that users must go through multiple application and system-level permission steps before Muse can access Messages content.
According to Singleton, those protections are designed to prevent Muse from bypassing permissions even if the application itself contains a bug. He also said Full Disk Access can be disabled by users.
Muse AI Agent Can Act On Users’ Behalf
