# Optical Communication Stocks Rally, AAOI Up 8%, COHR Up 6%, AXTI Up 5%

October 2 (Friday) during regular trading hours, optical communication stocks rallied across the board as AI datacenter construction accelerates demand for high-speed optical modules. Applied Optoelectronics(AAOI.US) climbed **7.97%** to $115.88, leading the sector with an intraday high of **9.65%** at $117.70. Coherent(COHR.US) surged **5.65%** to $337.24, hitting a session high of **5.99%**. AXT Inc(AXTI.US) rose **4.49%** to $85.48. Lumentum(LITE.US) gained **3.88%** to $1,086.41, reaching an intraday peak of **4.38%** at $1,091.61. Marvell(MRVL.US) advanced **2.25%** to $274.12, Nokia(NOK.US) rose **2.46%** to $10.63, and POET(POET.US) edged up **1.31%** to $7.74.

On the catalyst front, accelerating AI datacenter buildout is driving surging demand for 800G/1.6T optical modules with order volumes continuing to expand. Leveraged ETFs in the sector showed mixed performance: LITX(LITX.US) jumped **8.33%**, AAOX(AAOX.US) soared **15.87%** demonstrating significant leverage effect, while LITZ(LITZ.US) fell **7.99%** and MVLL(MVLL.US) gained **4.62%**.
