# [AI] Chinese Media: Cook Says Apple Intelligence Beta to Launch in China by Late October, Excluding Siri AI

(Economic Observer Network Exclusive Report on the 15th) According to a report by Chinese media outlet "Jiemian News," Apple Executive Chairman Tim Cook visited Shanghai today. When discussing matters related to Apple Intelligence, Cook stated that Apple Intelligence and the associated Alibaba Qwen large language model have indeed received approval. A beta version will be released later in October, featuring the first batch of Apple Intelligence capabilities, including real-time translation, writing tools, and photo cleanup tools. However, Siri AI will not be included in this initial release. Cook remarked, "We are pleased that the first batch of core Apple Intelligence features can be rolled out gradually."

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced this afternoon that Minister Wang Wentao met with Cook today. The two sides exchanged views on issues including China-U.S. economic and trade relations, the development of artificial intelligence, and Apple's business operations in China.

Previously, foreign media reported that Apple planned to launch Apple Intelligence in mainland China in December. Additionally, Chinese media reported that network access information from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology showed that filing information for mainland China versions of the iPhone Duo, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone Air, iPhone 17, and iPhone 18 Pro Max has newly added filing numbers for the integrated large language models. These numbers correspond to Apple Intelligence, Tongyi Wanxiang, and Tongyi Qianwen, respectively.
