# TSMC Stocks Fall Although $670 Target Raises the Advanced-Chip Stakes

TSMC, the contract chip manufacturer , confronts a higher bar for its AI expansion after Barclays reportedly lifted its price target from $665 to $670 and maintained Overweight. Shares traded at $414.95, down approximately 1.73%, at about 10.25 a.m. ET on October 16. The opportunity is clear: more revenue from its most advanced manufacturing processes. The catch is that cutting-edge production does not automatically translate into AI sales or stronger profits.

The manufacturing mix shows how quickly the business is shifting. Two-nanometer products contributed 8% of third-quarter wafer revenue, while three-nanometer products supplied 33%, according to the earnings-call transcript published October 15. Together, those processes generated 41% of wafer revenue. Seven-nanometer technology and finer accounted for 79%. Meanwhile, Reuters reported that management forecast fourth-quarter revenue of $52.3 billion to $54.3 billion, putting another substantial quarter on the table.

The valuation graphic shows shares trading 14.25% above the $363.20 GF Value estimate, suggesting investors already pay a premium for that growth. That estimate is a valuation reference, not a guaranteed destination. The next test is execution: expand advanced production, maintain yields and keep ramp costs under control. Watch margins alongside the node mix. More leading-edge revenue strengthens the earnings opportunity, but the profit left after expansion costs determines the payoff for shareholders.
