# Tesla Cybercab Extends Daily Operating Hours to Midnight in Austin

Tesla has started inviting customers to book Cybercab rides till midnight in Austin. This brings availability on par with the company’s Robotaxis.

Cybercab rides are now available until midnight in Austin, with several social media posts confirming the extended service period. User @aaronjcash shared a screenshot of the update notification in the Tesla Robotaxi app.

The notification reads, “Night out? Cybercab has your back. Rides now available until midnight.”

When Tesla launched the Cybercabs, the two-seat cars operated between 6 am and 11 pm, mirroring Robotaxi’s availability at the time. However, with this update, customers now have an extra hour to snag a ride in one of the autonomous cars.

Tesla recently extended Robotaxi operating hours to midnight, matching the service’s launch availability. CEO Elon Musk, however, confirmed that the automaker is working to avoid hitting stray pets that are difficult to spot after dark.

Cybercabs differ from other vehicles in Tesla’s robotaxi network. They are purpose-built for ride-hailing, offer only two seats, and ship without steering wheels or pedals. The rest of the autonomous fleet consists of modified Model Ys. Cybercabs are only available in Austin, Texas, while Robotaxis operate in Austin, Dallas, Houston, the San Francisco Bay Area, Miami, Orlando, and Tampa.

Apart from extending Cybercab operating hours, Tesla has also increased its fleet size. About 300 units serve Austin, up from the 200 reported by a Tesla enthusiast who captured drone footage of a storage yard.

Tesla will launch Cybercabs in Dallas soon, according to the company’s AI chief.
