# Citi Says TENCENT  Named Strategic Partner for APEC 2026 Summit Is Important Validation; Reiterates Buy

Citi published a research report stating that TENCENT (00700.HK) +1.800 (+0.466%) Short selling $1.24B; Ratio 9.712% becoming a strategic partner for the 33rd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting to be held in Shenzhen on Nov 18-19 represents important recognition and validation of its enterprise artificial intelligence, cloud and digital ecosystem capabilities.

The broker believes this will allow TENCENT to showcase its generative AI and cloud technology stack on a major global stage. Specifically, this important deployment is expected to significantly enhance TENCENT's brand awareness among international delegates, while encouraging more overseas users to become familiar with and adopt the WeChat Mini Program ecosystem and local merchant network.
