# ‘Pokemon GO’ Snivy Community Day: Start/End Times, Date, Research, Move, Bonus And Shiny

The weather is, finally, nice, at least here in the Northeast. It was a long, rough winter for a lot of reasons, but in between last *Pokemon GO* community day and this one little buds started to appear on the trees, and now we’ve got cherries and magnolias in full bloom, some of them even beginning to shed their petals and transition into full leaves. Which means it’s a good time for a grass-type starter, one supposes. April’s community day Pokemon is Snivvy, so read on for start/end times, date, research, move, bonus and shiny.

**Start/End Times:** I think we can stop calling these extended hours and just accept that this is the way things are now: the new normal, as it were. Snivy community day will be on Sunday, April 11, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time.

**The Pokemon:** I’m gonna be honest, I don’t get this one. Most of the starters are some mix of playful, mischievous, lovable and whatever else, but Snivy is...aloof? A pretentious lizard? Who chooses a pretentious lizard for their starter? It’s not the worst in terms of usability, but I’ve never really taken a shine to this one. It evolves first into Servine, and then into Serperior, both of which are also pretentious lizards.

**Research:** As usual, there will be a $1 research story in the shop. This one is called “Snivy in the Sunshine”, and we’ll know more about it when the event starts in New Zealand. But these are typically pretty similar .

**Shiny:** A slight shift for this one. You’re looking for teal, a little bit deeper than the usual coloring. It retains this throughout evolution, though with Servine it also gets a bit of an orange instead of red on its collar. It is understated and tasteful, which is just what you would expect out of Snivy.

**The Move:** If you evolve a Servine during or up to two hours after the event, you’ll get a Serperior that knows Frenzy Plany, always a solid choice for PvP. I don’t think this quite makes Serperior top tier, but gotta catch ‘em all, after all.

**The Bonus:** In addition to three-hour incense we’re getting triple catch stardust, so pop a star piece for some impressive stardust bonuses. You can never have too much stardust, whether that’s for trading, evolving or buying new moves, so stock up.
