In three of the top four leagues in Europe, there will be a different champion crowned at the end of the season. In Germany, however, Bayern Munich secured their ninth title in a row on Saturday without having to kick a ball thanks to a 3-2 win by Borussia Dortmund over RB Leipzig.  Jadon Sancho was the man of the match in what was a thrilling curtain-raiser for Thursday's DFB Pokal final between the two clubs. Marco Reus (7') and Sancho (51') gave the Black and Yellows a 2-0 lead. Leipzig would equalize thanks to goals by Lukas Klostermann (63') and Dani Olmo (77'), but Sancho eventually scored the winner in the 87th minute.  That result at least keeps the Champions League race wide open in the Bundesliga. Dortmund now sits in fourth place, but fifth-place Eintracht Frankfurt faces their local rivals 1.FSV Mainz 05 on Sunday. Dortmund, in fact, could still salvage what has been a disappointing season by finishing in the top four and winning the cup on Thursday.  For Leipzig, in the meantime, the season could end in significant disappointment. Just one week ago, the club lost head coach Julian Nagelsmann to their rivals Bayern Munich. Defender Dayot Upamecano is also heading to the Bavarian capital.  Nagelsmann is one of the most exciting coaches in Europe, but on Saturday, he once again demonstrated that he might not quite be the finished product yet as Dortmund's Edin Terzic outcoached him. The 33-year-old will have to avoid slip-ups as he had with Leipzig in key games this season. ![FC Bavaria - RB Leipzig](https://imageproxy.pbkrs.com/https://specials-images.forbesimg.com/imageserve/6096b6c3c57342df2301c7a3/960x0.jpg/query-Zml0PXNjYWxl?x-oss-process=image/auto-orient,1/interlace,1/resize,w_1440,h_1440/quality,q_95/format,jpg) For Bayern Munich, in the meantime, it is yet another title for their head coach Hansi Flick. The 56-year-old leaves the Rekordmeister this summer, having won seven titles—he has already had talks with the DFB, but no decision on whether he will become the next national team coach has been made. Overall, the Rekordmeister will look back at a year in which they played a good but erratic season in the Bundesliga but fell short in cup competitions. The defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarterfinals will probably hurt the most.  Bayern Munich outplayed the Parisians in both games but without Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry lacked proper goalscoring outlets. The decision-makers in Munich will then have watched the semifinals with a sense of disappointment, knowing that they would have been the clear favorites with all their players fit.  Domestically, the DFB Pokal also slipped away thanks to an erratic performance on a snowy evening in Kiel against 2.Bundesliga side Holstein. At that point, it was seen as a minor slip-up in what was understood to be a long era under head coach Flick.  In March, however, Bundestrainer Joachim Löw announced that he would leave the Germany set up after the European Championships this summer. Flick quickly emerged as the favorite to take over from Löw, bringing to the surface an internal power struggle between the head coach and director of sport Hasan Salihamidžić.  Ultimately, Löw's departure and the merry-go-round of Bundesliga coaching changes that also affected Bayern will come to define this season and will beck the question of whether Nagelsmann can now define a new era of stability at the Rekordmeister.  Flick, in the meantime, has achieved the minimum. Another Bundesliga title for Bayern Munich as the club's stranglehold over the Bundesliga continues. But his departure will be an end of an era with Javi Martínez, David Alaba, and Jérôme Boateng set to leave the club. Robert Lewandowski has also made noise about wanting a new challenge.  For Nagelsmann, then the job is to rebuild this team, guide Bayern into a new era and, most importantly, continue the club's dominance over the Bundesliga.  *Manuel Veth is the editor-in-chief of the* Futbolgrad Network *and the Area Manager USA at* Transfermarkt*.
