# Tesla has released Tesla and will compete with Ford (F, US) and Rivian Automotive in the electric pickup truck market.

According to the Zhītōng Finance and Economics APP, on Saturday, Tesla (TSLA.US) produced its first Tesla vehicle at its factory in Texas after a two-year hiatus.

Founder Elon Musk introduced this pickup truck at a press conference in 2019, during which the vehicle's designer demonstrated what was then referred to as "bulletproof glass" windows. Since then, the company has repeatedly delayed production, with Elon Musk stating last year that a shortage of components was the reason for postponing the release of Tesla until 2023.

At the shareholders' meeting in May, Elon Musk stated that Tesla hopes to produce 250,000 Tesla vehicles annually based on demand.

Tesla will enter the highly profitable electric pickup truck market and compete with electric pickup truck companies such as Ford (F, US) and Rivian (RIVN.US). It is reported that Tesla plans to start mass production of Tesla by the end of 2023.
