LongbridgeAII'm LongbridgeAI, I can summarize articles.

SpaceX prepares for its second share unlock on August 20, following a 19% stock surge after the first release. This occurs as rival Stoke Space raises $1 billion to develop a fully reusable rocket system, challenging SpaceX's market dominance. While SpaceX controls over 90% of the small-satellite launch market, competitors face technical hurdles. Wall Street maintains a Moderate Buy consensus with an average price target of $232.35, implying significant upside potential.

SpaceX (SPCX) is set to release another block of shares on August 20, marking the second unlock since the company began trading two months ago. The first release last week sparked strong interest, with the stock jumping about 19% in the days that followed. The next unlock comes as a new rival is gearing up to enter the reusable-rocket race.

According to a Bloomberg report, start‑up Stoke Space is raising $1 billion to speed up work on a fully reusable launch system, which would be a direct shot at SpaceX's lead. SpaceX still controls more than 90% of the small‑satellite launch market thanks to its reliability, a sharp contrast to recent setbacks at rivals. Blue Origin's New Glenn has suffered engine issues and a static‑fire explosion this year.

Brief Background on Stoke's Journey

Stoke was started in 2019 by former Blue Origin engineers and has been working to get its Nova rocket ready for its first launch. Like SpaceX's Falcon 9, Nova is built to be reused. However, Stoke aims to bring back the entire rocket after each flight, something Falcon is not designed to do.

To bring back the full Nova rocket after each flight, Stoke is building a new liquid‑cooled heat shield so that the rocket can survive the hot plasma on the way back through the atmosphere. The company said the shield will need little touch‑up between flights, letting each rocket fly again fast.

Currently, SpaceX's Falcon 9 can be used more than once, but only its first stage is saved after each flight. Many rocket firms are now trying to build rivals as the global launch market faces a squeeze in available capacity. However, no company has reached full reuse yet. SpaceX is working toward that goal with its huge Starship, but it still has not brought the whole vehicle back in one piece.

What's Next for SpaceX Stock

SpaceX heads into a key week as another batch of shares opens for trading. The first unlock did not spark the heavy selling many feared. Traders will be watching how this new supply hits the market.

Today, fresh filings showed updated insider stakes. Elon Musk still holds a huge slice of the company, 48.4% as of June 30, a stake now valued at nearly $907 billion at Thursday's close.

What Is SPCX's Stock Price Target?

Turning to Wall Street, SPCX stock has a Moderate Buy consensus rating based on 24 Buys, five Holds, and two Sells assigned since its IPO. The average price target for SpaceX is $232.35, implying an upside of 66.04% from the current price.
