<p>Huawei's latest Mate 80 series handset is powered by the Kirin 9030 chip, manufactured by China's SMIC using an improved 7nm process. Despite advancements, it remains less advanced than TSMC and Samsung's 5nm processes. The chip uses SMIC's N+3 process, an extension of its previous 7nm node. TechInsights reported these findings, noting China's addition of TechInsights to its unreliable entity list in October.</p>

- The Kirin 9030 chip, powering Huawei's Mate 80 series, is manufactured by SMIC using a 7 nanometer process, which is less advanced than TSMC and Samsung's offerings.  
- TechInsights reported that the N+3 process is a scaled extension of SMIC's previous N+2 node but still lags behind the industry's 5 nanometer processes.  
- In October, China placed TechInsights on its unreliable entity list, impacting its ability to report on Huawei and SMIC's chip developments.
