Zijin Mining Cuts Sulfur Dioxide Emissions at Serbian Smelter by Over 90%
Zijin Mining Group has completed environmental upgrades at its Serbia Zijin Copper TIR smelter, reducing sulfur dioxide emissions by over 90%. The upgrades include advanced flue gas treatment, desulfurization systems, and a shift to natural gas fuel, aligning with EU BAT standards. Additionally, dust control and land rehabilitation efforts were undertaken at the Bor Copper Complex. These measures address legacy environmental issues since Zijin assumed control in 2018.
