China’s Geely Auto raises bar on car safety with world’s largest test hub amid price war
Geely Auto, China's second-largest carmaker, has launched a 2 billion yuan safety test facility, the world's largest, in Ningbo, Zhejiang province. This move emphasizes Geely's focus on vehicle safety over price competition in China's automotive market. The facility conducts 27 types of tests, including crash and cybersecurity evaluations. Geely aims to set new safety benchmarks, resisting the trend of offering discounts amid a price war. The company delivered 2.79 million vehicles in the first 11 months of 2025, with a significant increase in electric vehicle sales.
