Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) has indicated that initial signs suggest a full recovery of primary aluminum production may take as long as 12 months. The company anticipates that, based on the final loss assessment, partial production operations at its casthouse and recycling facilities may resume at an earlier date. Infrastructure repairs and a gradual restart of each production electrolysis cell are required.

The Middle East's largest aluminum producer had evacuated and shut down its aluminum smelter, casthouse, power plant, Al Taweelah alumina refinery, and Al Taweelah recycling facility following an attack by Iran last week.
