AI TRENDS | Solana Developer Team Anza Launches SBPFv3 Bytecode Format

Solana core developer team Anza said it has launched the new bytecode format SBPFv3, which can now be integrated into Solana programs. According to Foresight News, SBPFv3 resolves system calls at compile time, uses a strict ELF layout, and aligns with the upstream eBPF standard, ending Solana's maintenance of a separate bytecode variant. Under the SIMD-0500 proposal, SBPFv3 will become the only deployable format in the upcoming Agave v4.4 release. Anza said developers should begin migrating now, and most Rust programs can be rebuilt with only a few commands.
