CN Tech Deepens Integration Into Global Corporates Across AI, EVs and Batteries Despite US Containment

LongbridgeAII'm LongbridgeAI, I can summarize articles.

Despite US containment efforts, Chinese tech firms are deepening integration with global corporations in AI, EVs, and batteries. Major companies like Apple, Ford, Volkswagen, and Stellantis are adopting Chinese technology and partnering with local firms such as Baidu, CATL, XPENG, and Leapmotor. Analysts note China has shifted from a sales market to a source of innovation, driven by cost, scale, and supply chain advantages. While the US imposes restrictions on semiconductors and AI, global firms continue collaborating with Chinese entities due to commercial realities.

The US has continued to step up efforts to tame Beijing's technological ambitions, but from AI to EV batteries, Chinese technology is becoming increasingly embedded in the operations of some of the world's largest corporations.

Apple Inc. (AAPL.US) has adopted AI technologies from BABA-W (09988.HK) -2.600 (-2.133%) Short selling $651.34M; Ratio 9.138% and BIDU-SW (09888.HK) -1.000 (-0.971%) Short selling $150.97M; Ratio 17.530% in China, while Ford Motor Company (F.US) is using CATL's battery technology. Volkswagen is cooperating with XPENG-W (09868.HK) +0.220 (+0.485%) Short selling $131.93M; Ratio 29.630% to develop smart EVs in China, while Stellantis (STLA.US) is expanding cooperation with LEAPMOTOR (09863.HK) +0.820 (+2.041%) Short selling $93.88M; Ratio 27.631% in EV production and joint procurement.

Analysts said a broad transformation is underway, with Chinese companies becoming a source of technology and innovation that global corporations can no longer easily avoid.

Kitty Fok, Managing Director of IDC China, told CNBC that China was mainly a market where global companies sold products five years ago. Today, in some industries, China has become the place where they acquire capabilities.

Nevertheless, Washington continues to expand restrictions on Chinese technology.

Since placing Huawei on a blacklist in 2019, the US has imposed sweeping restrictions on advanced chips and chipmaking equipment, limited certain US investments in China's semiconductor, quantum technology and artificial intelligence sectors, and added companies such as Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation to restriction lists.

China has established a strong position in an increasing number of technology industries.

Soumen Mandal, Chief Analyst at Counterpoint Research, said automakers including BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) 0.000 (0.000%) Short selling $155.02M; Ratio 14.580% , CHANGAN AUTOMOBILE (000625.SZ) 0.000 (0.000%) and CHERY AUTO (09973.HK) +0.380 (+1.506%) Short selling $7.26M; Ratio 18.043% accounted for nearly 63% of the global EV market in 2025, while battery manufacturers including CATL (03750.HK) +15.500 (+2.375%) Short selling $451.01M; Ratio 46.091% , BYD COMPANY, CALB (03931.HK) 0.000 (0.000%) Short selling $18.94M; Ratio 26.979% and GOTION HIGH-TECH (002074.SZ) 0.000 (0.000%) accounted for close to 70%.

Mandal noted that cost, scale, manufacturing depth, supply chain integration and speed of innovation are key reasons global companies continue to work with Chinese firms.

He remarked that China's technological rise is shifting from low-cost manufacturing toward scale, supply chain depth and speed of innovation. He added that global companies are balancing geopolitical risks against commercial realities.
