LongbridgeAII'm LongbridgeAI, I can summarize articles.

Comcast (CMCSA) stock rose 1.85% on Thursday following two strategic partnerships. Comcast partnered with Fastly to integrate software into its edge compute platform, enhancing streaming for Xfinity customers. Additionally, Comcast Business collaborated with Equinix to automate last-mile connectivity ordering via APIs, aiming to reduce delivery times from weeks to days. Despite the positive news, technical analysis indicates the stock remains in a longer-term downtrend, trading below key moving averages.

Comcast Corp (NASDAQ:CMCSA) stock moved higher on Thursday following two major partnership announcements designed to advance its network capabilities and enterprise services.

The company partnered with Fastly, Inc. (NASDAQ:FSLY) to integrate Fastly’s software across Comcast’s nationwide edge compute platform. Additionally, Comcast Business introduced a collaboration with Equinix, Inc. (NASDAQ:EQIX) to automate last-mile connectivity ordering.

Streaming Edge Expansion

Comcast and Fastly announced a content delivery deployment that embeds Fastly’s programmable software across Comcast’s 200-plus AI-powered edge compute centers. The integration brings streaming content closer to Xfinity customers, reducing latency during high-demand events like live sports.

Enterprise Connectivity Automation

Separately, Comcast Business partnered with Equinix to enable enterprise customers to order last-mile Ethernet connectivity through standards-based APIs inside Equinix Fabric.

Part of the Comcast Business Innovation Lab, the integration uses the Mplify Lifecycle Service Orchestration framework, aiming to reduce last-mile delivery times from weeks to days.

Technical Analysis

Comcast is still working through a longer-term downtrend, down 25.07% over the past 12 months and trading 7.7% below its 200-day SMA ($27.16), which keeps the bigger-picture trend bearish.

In the nearer term, it’s trying to stabilize: the stock is 0.6% above its 50-day SMA ($24.93) and essentially flat versus the 100-day SMA ($25.07), but it remains 5% below the 20-day SMA ($26.38), showing the recent bounce hasn’t fully repaired the short-term damage.

Key levels are fairly clean on the chart, with the July low and 52-week low area still acting as the "line in the sand," while overhead supply sits near the upper-$20s where the 200-day average lives.

The stock also saw a swing high in August and a swing low in July, so traders will be watching whether this rebound can build a higher low versus that July trough.

  • Key Resistance: $27.50 — Nearby round-number zone just under the 200-day area where rebounds can stall.
  • Key Support: $21.50 — Level near the 52-week low zone where buyers previously stepped in.

CMCSA Stock Price Activity: Comcast shares were up 1.85% at $25.05 at the time of publication on Thursday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
