Daily Events

  1. Nov, 6

After touching a 52-week low of $2.59 on Nov 5, NB slipped to $2.650 in Thursday's pre-market but reversed to close the regular session at $2.895, up 7.02%, with an intraday high of $2.910 and a slight fade to $2.890 after hours; the rebound was set off by a 15-year offtake agreement with Traxys covering Elk Creek products, which places all planned critical-mineral output under long-term sales contracts, alongside EXIM reiterating its target to finance roughly 65% of upfront CAPEX. Q3 2026 net income of $0.878M turned positive year over year, but the Q4 operating loss widened to $9.459M and the net loss reached $5.954M. The shares remain below the MA20 of 3.133 and MA60 of 3.65, down 51.34% year to date and 64.61% below the 52-week high of $8.18, while William Blair's challenge to rare-earth supply optimism still weighs on the group and a 1.56% turnover rate points to thin participation.

  2. Nov, 5

An 8-K showing zero quarterly revenue, plus broad weakness in materials names, left NB down 8.9% at $2.705, after spiking to $3.130 pre-market and then sliding to a $2.595 intraday low, a fresh 52-week low, before a partial recovery into the close. The project story is not empty: 100% of planned Elk Creek output is contracted under long-term sales agreements, including a 15-year supply deal with Traxys, EXIM reiterated financing of roughly 65% of upfront CAPEX, and preliminary Q3 results showed $8.78 million of net income, up 116.7% year over year. Still, the price sits below its MA20 of $3.157 and MA60 of $3.687, down 54.54% year to date and 66.93% below the January 26 high of $8.18, at 0.91x book with a market value of about $395 million, and post-market trades near $2.700. Though the latest quarter's operating loss widened 86.83% to $9.459 million, keeping pre-construction spending pressure visible.

  3. Nov, 4

NioCorp rose in premarket but faded to close essentially flat on Nov. 4, with the latest $2.97 down 0.3% from the $2.98 prior close, as the market digested the prior 15% rebound and Elk Creek commercial updates. The stock hit $3.20 premarket, touched $3.175 at 09:41 ET, fell to $2.873 by 11:05 ET, recovered to $2.975, and last traded at $2.97 after hours. NioCorp has placed 100% of planned Elk Creek output under long-term sales agreements, including a 15-year Traxys supply deal, while EXIM reiterated a target to finance about 65% of upfront capex. Those items supported the premarket move but did not hold. Recent results show Q3 net income of $0.878 million and EPS of $0.0066, versus a Q4 net loss of $5.954 million and an operating loss of $9.459 million, highlighting development-stage spending. At $2.97, the shares sit 63.69% below the 52-week high of $8.18, down 50.08% year-to-date, below the MA20 of $3.192 and MA60 of $3.729, and just 5.69% above the 52-week low of $2.81. Though the long-term sales coverage anchors project financing, the stock remains below both moving averages.

  4. Nov, 3

Shares spiked to $3.25 pre-market before sliding one-way through the regular session to a $2.954 low and closing at $2.99 against a $3.115 prior close, about 4% lower, as the late-October 15% single-day rally unwound. Project news flow has been steady: all planned Elk Creek output is now covered by long-term sales agreements, including a 15-year supply contract with Traxys, and EXIM reiterated it aims to finance roughly 65% of upfront capex; yet the 8-K shows zero revenue for FY2027 Q1, while Q4 2026 recorded a $5.954M net loss and a $9.459M operating loss. The stock is down 49.92% year to date, 63.57% below its January 26 high of $8.18 and only 6.05% above its 52-week low of $2.81, trading beneath both the $3.216 MA20 and $3.769 MA60 at 1.01x book. Turnover of just 1.51% suggests selling was not broad-based.

  5. Oct, 27

NioCorp rose 17.6% to $3.41, staging a low-open, high-close session from $2.98 after touching $2.861 pre-market, closing the regular session at $3.425 and extending to $3.44 after hours, as the company said 100% of planned Elk Creek output is now under long-term sales agreements, including a 15-year supply deal with Traxys, while EXIM reiterated a target to finance roughly 65% of upfront capex. Fundamentals remain pre-revenue: revenue was zero in the latest quarter, with a Q4 net loss of $5.954M, an operating loss of $9.459M and EPS of -$0.0409. The stock is still down 42.69% YTD and 58.31% below its January 52-week high of $8.18, just above the $3.265 MA20 but well under the $3.929 MA60, and 21.35% above the Oct 26 low of $2.81, with market cap near $497M and PB at 1.15. Though the offtake and financing still await final execution, and with no revenue, earnings hinge on construction progress.

Haven't opened a new position for a long time, starting to build a position in $Critical Metals(CRML.US). The main theme of defense reindustrialization is still not enough with just application stocks.

Although I previously looked at $Niocorp Developments(NB.US), NB's fundamentals are really too poor. The niobium mine hasn't started production yet, relying entirely on empty defense department orders to stay alive.

We simulated an extreme scenario with Gemini: if the U.S. returns to Monroe Doctrine 2.0 and all South American countries align with the U.S., what core raw material supply blockades (potential) would this impose on China.

China relies on South America for resources like lithium, copper, iron ore, and crude oil, but the most critical dependency is niobium (Nb): used in high-strength steel (military, aircraft carriers, rockets, pipelines). Brazil controls over 90% of global production, and 95% of China’s imports come from Brazil.
