Africa Stock Market Closing Report | South African stock market closed down 1.2%, Naspers and Prosus fell at least 3%

On Friday (November 7), the South African FTSE/JSE Africa Leading 40 Index closed down 1.20%, below 101,500 points, with a cumulative decline of 0.48% for the week. Among the constituent stocks, Sibanye Stillwater, involved in platinum, palladium, rhodium, and gold processing, fell 3.75%, Naspers dropped 3.32%, and Prosus declined by 3%, making it the third largest drop. The South African Rand has appreciated 0.03% against the US dollar so far this week, currently at 17.3266 Rand, showing an overall V-shaped reversal. This week, the Mauritius Stock Exchange SEMDEX Index has cumulatively declined 1.03%, continuing to trend lower, the Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index has cumulatively dropped 2.99%, also continuing to trend lower, while the Nairobi Stock Exchange All Share Index in Kenya has cumulatively increased by 2.01%
