Supreme People's Procuratorate: In 2024, there will be stronger measures to punish criminal activities such as illegally transferring assets abroad using virtual currencies
The Supreme People's Procuratorate announced today the progress of the comprehensive deepening of procuratorial reform work for 2024. It mentioned that it will collaborate with relevant departments to formulate judicial interpretations, improve judicial norms for punishing criminal cases related to securities and futures, money laundering, and tax administration violations, and more effectively punish criminal activities such as illegally transferring assets abroad using virtual currencies, tax evasion, and fraudulently obtaining export tax rebates. It will improve the equal protection mechanism for various business entities, legally supervise and correct the use of criminal means to intervene in economic disputes, and address issues such as illegal seizure, detention, and freezing of assets, especially regarding irregular cross-regional law enforcement and profit-driven judicial issues. It will also enhance the mechanism for the Supreme People's Procuratorate's stationed work at the China Securities Regulatory Commission and strengthen the coordination and cooperation between financial regulatory enforcement and judicial work
