• Geely Auto sold 106,663 vehicles overseas in July, topping 100,000 for the second consecutive month.

Geely Auto (HKEX: 0175) saw its sales growth accelerate last month, with overseas markets setting another record that offset continued weakness in domestic demand.

The Chinese auto giant sold 250,161 vehicles in July, up 5.23% year-on-year and 3.89% from June, according to data it released on Saturday.

That was the company's best-ever performance for the month of July.

In the first seven months of the year, Geely Auto's cumulative sales reached 1,673,119 units, up a slight 1.59% year-on-year.

Exports remain the main growth engine. The company sold 106,663 vehicles overseas in July, a surge of 202.40% year-on-year and 3.68% higher than in June, a record for any month.

It was the second consecutive month that Geely Auto's exports exceeded 100,000 units. Cumulative exports in the first seven months were 580,891 units, up 164.78% year-on-year.

Its new energy vehicle (NEV) exports were 62,604 units in July, up 616% year-on-year and accounting for 59% of total exports, showing that its overseas expansion is tilting from combustion-engine models toward electrified products.

The domestic market, by contrast, remained sluggish. Geely Auto's sales in China were 143,498 units in July, down 29.12% year-on-year, though up 4.04% from June.

By brand, the main Geely brand sold 197,942 vehicles in July, up 2.28% year-on-year and 6.10% from June, returning to growth.

Its Galaxy brand sold 107,797 units, up 13.42% year-on-year and roughly flat from June.

Premium brand Zeekr was the strongest performer, delivering 35,837 vehicles in July, up 111.09% year-on-year and marking the seventh consecutive month of more than doubling from a year earlier.

The Lynk & Co brand remained under pressure, with July sales of 16,382 units, down 39.81% year-on-year and 14.08% from June.
