
TSMC said it will invest NT$3.36 trillion (US$1.01 trillion) on fabs and related buildings in the south Taiwan cities of Kaohsiung and Tainan, media report, turning the Southern Taiwan Science Park into the world’s largest semiconductor manufacturing service cluster. TSMC plans to invest NT$1.86 trillion (US$55.95 billion) in Fab 18 near Tainan, and NT$1.5 trillion in Fab 22 in Kaohsiung.
