Taiwan’s top negotiator on US tariffs said she is pushing for a reciprocal tariff rate of 15%, in line with Japan and South Korea, media report, with a new US announcement expected Aug. 12 during a US-South Korea summit. Reciprocal tariff rates are set to begin Aug. 7th, with Taiwan at 20%. Taiwan officials warned an agreement with the US is unlikely to be in place by that time.
