# UNH Statement on Cost Pressures

$Unitedhealth(UNH.US) UnitedHealth Group (UNH) management has stated that they will proactively address the following challenges.

  
The Group has observed a significant increase in healthcare unit costs and service intensity.  
According to the company’s financial report, medical costs are affected by the number of individual services provided, the cost per service, and the types of services delivered.

  
Numerous factors may cause actual costs to exceed estimates, including medical cost inflation, increased utilization of services, higher costs for individual services, and the introduction of new or expensive drugs.

  
Cost growth that surpasses our projections generally cannot be recovered through higher premiums during fixed premium periods.
