Micron is in talks with Taiwan’s Powerchip (PSMC) to boost memory chip output amid the global shortage, by installing its own production lines in PSMC’s newest fab, media report, which has space for an additional 40,000 to 50,000 wafers per month. A new fab takes up to 2-years to complete, so working with PSMC cuts that timeframe as the fab shell, cleanroom are ready now. PSMC confirmed it is in talks with multiple firms on the fab, but did not reveal names. SanDisk is another, others unknown. $Micron Tech(MU.US) $Sandisk(SNDK.US) $HXSCL $SSNLF #SKhynix #Samsung #Semiconductors
