
Global automakers are at risk as the head of China’s Wingtech Technology warned over chip supplies unless its control over Dutch chipmaker Nexperia BV is restored, media report. Wingtech, a state-invested China company, has owned Nexperia since 2019, but Wingtech’s founder was removed as Nexperia CEO by a Dutch court. Wingtech was put on the US entity list in 2024, and its subsidiaries (including Nexperia) were added in September this year, a key reason for the dispute.
