
Nvidia’s Vera Rubin (VR) is causing a scramble for AI server cabinets, as demand has tripled and chassis makers say the order backlog stretches into 2027, media report, adding VR requires 2-3 additional cabinets (called sidecars) to house power supplies and cooling units. VR’s new DC power design, much higher needs up to 600kW, need separate cabinets.
