
Smartphone chip giant MediaTek has cut 4nm wafer starts at TSMC as surging memory chip prices have slashed demand for low-to-mid end smartphones and even called into question premium phone demand, media report, adding DRAM and NAND now account for a huge 43% of a handset’s build-of-materials (BOM).
