description: "Gold and silver are becoming increasingly interesting as strategic commodities. Central banks continue to accumulate gold as they diversify their reserves, while both metals can also provide some diversification given their relatively low correlation with the S&P 500.I think the near-term outlook could be more challenging with rates staying higher for longer, but I’m still bullish on the longer-term story. Silver especially has strong structural demand from solar, electronics and the broader push towards electrification. That’s also where I see the appeal of DLCs. With metals capable of making big moves in either direction, the Long and Short DLCs provide a way to take a more tactical view on gold or silver. The daily reset means they’re better suited for short-term trades rather than simply holding them for the long run."

- **honeyandsmoke · 2026-08-17T09:52:49.000Z**: silver at 66 is still way under the jan high, so the solar and electrification story and the actual price havent been the same trade for a while now.
